Summary:

On 2/28/2010, the RCSD was assisting State Police with a multi-car, multi-injury crash on Killington Road in front of the Pickle Barrel in Killington, VT. Because of this crash, the main entrance/exit to the Pickle Barrel was blocked and traffic was temporarily stopped.

During that investigation, it was brought to the attention of the police that a vehicle, not involved in the crash, was attempting to exit the Pickle Barrel parking lot by attempting to drive thought an approximate 10 foot snow bank and the driver may have been intoxicated.

Contact was made with the driver after he became stuck in the snow bank. He was identified as Timothy R. Bratton of NJ. He displayed several signs of impairment and was screened for DUI. He was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Rutland County Sheriff's Office where he refused to provide a breath test.

Bratton was cited to Rutland District Court for DUI at a later date.
