City, State of residence: Short Hills, NJ
Cpl. Richard Wilbur of the RCSD was dispatched to a retail theft at Old Navy at the Diamond Run Mall. At the conclusion of his investigation, he cited Kajal M. Sinkar for retail theft. The property taken from Old Navy was recovered.

Incident: Theft from motor vehicle
Location: Stewart's Shop, West Rutland
Date of incident: 2/18/2010
Accused: Beau J. Taylor
Accused city/state of residence: West Rutland, VT
Charges: Petit Larceny Title 13 VSA 2502
Summary: The RCSD began an investigation into the theft of a cell phone from a vehicle parked in the Stewart's parking lot in West Rutland. Investigation resulted in Beau J. Taylor being cited for petit larceny. The cell phone was not recovered. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Deputy James Bennick at 802-775-8002.

Accused: Timothy R. Bratton

City, State of Residence: Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
Summary:
On 2/28/2010, the RCSD was assisting State Police with a multi-car, multi-injury crash on Killington Road in front of the Pickle Barrel in Killington, VT. Because of this crash, the main entrance/exit to the Pickle Barrel was blocked and traffic was temporarily stopped.
During that investigation, it was brought to the attention of the police that a vehicle, not involved in the crash, was attempting to exit the Pickle Barrel parking lot by attempting to drive thought an approximate 10 foot snow bank and the driver may have been intoxicated.
Contact was made with the driver after he became stuck in the snow bank. He was identified as Timothy R. Bratton of NJ. He displayed several signs of impairment and was screened for DUI. He was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Rutland County Sheriff's Office where he refused to provide a breath test.
Bratton was cited to Rutland District Court for DUI at a later date.

Drug Arrest -Possession of Heroin :

On 2/25/2010 the Rutland County Sheriff's Department began an investgation into the theft of personal property from a residence in West Rutland. This property was later recovered and returned to the owner.
As a result of this investigation, heroin was seized and Aaron E. Gould of West Rutland was cited to Rutland District Court for possession of heroin.

Theft of chain saws - SOLVED :

On 1/14/2010 the Rutland Co. Sheriff's Office began an investigation into the theft of several chain saws from a pickup truck at the Price Chopper Plaza in West Rutland.
Investigation resulted in the recovery of (1) of those saws. On 2/19/2010 Timothy E. Shaw of Wallingford was arrested for the thefts and violation of conditions of release.
He is scheduled to appear at Rutland District Court on 2/22/2010 for the charges of Grand Larceny and Violation of Conditions of Release.
