Incident: Motor Vehicle Crash

Summary of Crash: Initial investigation revealed that operator #1 was traveling
east on RT140 in Wallingford when he failed to maintain his lane on a sharp left
hand curve. The vehicle left the east side (right) of the roadway. Operator #1
then began to steer left to regain the roadway, however he began to loose
control of the vehicle as it crossed the eastbound lane and began to enter the
westbound lane. He over corrected his steering, causing the vehicle to roll
over. The vehicle rolled one time, landed on its wheels and continued backwards
until it struck a guardrail with the rear bumper. Opertor #1 then drove the
vehicle a short distance further east before stopping in the roadway.
Operator #1 was transported to the RRMC by Wallingford Rescue where he was
treated for minor injuries and released.
State Police, Wallingford Fire Department and Wallingford Rescue assisted with
this crash.

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE:Brandon, VT
DESCRIPTION OF VEHICLE:1999 Honda Accord
DAMAGE TO VEHICLE: Totaled
INJURIES: Minor, treated and released.
HOSPITAL: RRMC
WEATHER: Clear
ROAD COND: Clear/Dry
SUMMARY OF CRASH: Preliminary investigation revealed that vehicle #1 was
traveling on Creek Road in Clarendon when it left the travel lane and struck a
concrete bridge on the road edge. Speed did not appear to be a factor in this
crash, nor were alcohol or drugs detected. Operator #1 was transported to RRMC
by Regional Ambulance and seen for minor injuries. The vehicle appeared to be a
total loss. Investigation into the cause of this crash is continuing. Anyone
with information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Cpl.

this crash scene.
