The Rutland County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the theft of approximatley one cord of firewood from Main Street in Proctor. This wood was taken during the night of April 23 or the early morning of April 24.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Deputy James Bennick at 802-775-8002.

LOCATION: Harrison Avenue, West Rutland
ACCUSED: Anthony E. Sargent
CITY & STATE OF RESIDENCE: West Rutland, VT
INVESTIGATING DEPUTY: Deputy 1/C Jason R. Allen
CHARGES: Petit Larceny (13VSA2502) and Violation of Conditions of Release (13VSA7559)
SUMMARY: On the above date, it was determined that the accused stole medications that belonged to his grandchild for his own consumption in West Rutland.
The accused had conditions of release from Rutland District Court prohibiting him from having any further charges filed on him. The accused was located on 4/22/2010 and cited to Rutland District Court at a later date.

He was taken into custody and transported to the RCSO where he was processed for the offense and released on a citation.

CHARGES: Retail Theft (13VSA2575), Unlawful trespass (13VSA3705) and violation of conditions of release (13VSA7559)
SUMMARY: On the above date, it was determined that the accused stole several items of produce from Price Chopper in West Rutland. The accused had an active notice against trespass for Price Chopper and had conditions of release from Rutland District Court prohibiting him from having any further charges filed on him. The accused was located on 4/15/2010 and cited to Rutland District Court at a later date.
