Violation of Abuse Prevention Order :

INCIDENT: Arrest for Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order

CHARGES: Violation of Abuse Prevention Order (Title 13 VSA 1030)
Accused: Thomas J. Rougier
City, State of Residence: West Rutland, VT

Summary: The accused was arrested for violating a family court order, preventing him from having any contact with the protected person. On 4/15/2010 the investigation revealed the accused had telephone contact with the protected person and went to her residence in Proctor, both of which he was prohibited from doing.

The accused was lodged at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Center and charged at Rutland District Court on 4/16/10 where he was later released, on conditions.

Court: Yes
Bail: $10,000 initially; releated at court on conditions


Copper Thefts :

The RCSD has recently began investigations into a number of copper and scrap metal thefts from the West Rutland area. These thefts occured at both residential homes and commercial properties. Anyone with information about the thefts and/or the missing metal is asked to contact the RCSD. The public can contact Sgt. Jeffrey Stephenson at 802-775-8002.

Assault/Vandalism Arrest :

Incident: Family Fight/Assault; vandalism
Date: 3/31/2010
Location: Pleasant Street, West Rutland

Responding Deputies: Deputy Bennick, Deputy Cross, Cpl. Fox, Sgt. Stephenson

Accused: James M. Greene
Age: 44
City, State of Residence: West Rutland, VT

Charges: 2nd Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault; Felony Unlawful mischief

Information:

On the above date, Deputies were dispatched to a home on Pleasant Street in West Rutland for a family fight. Invesgitation revealed that the accused entered his son's residence and committed more that $1,000 in vandalism and damage to property. During this incident, his son was home and sustained injuries as a result of items being thrown at him and around the house. The accused was arrested and appeared in court later in the afternoon.

Bail: Yes


Felony Drug Arrest :

Incident: Drugs (Possession of Ecstasy)
Date: 3/28/10
Location; Red Roof Inn, RT7, Rutland Town

Responding Deputies: Sgt. Stephenson, Deputy Kenyon, Deputy Bennick, Deputy Allen

Accused: Gretchen Creaser
Age: 18
City, State of Residence: Manchester, NH

Charges: Possession of Ecstasy (Felony)

Information:

On 3/28/10 two females were located inside a vehicle behind the Red Roof Inn in Rutland Town. After contact was made with these females, probable cause for a vehicle serach was gained. A subsequent vehicle search was conducted, During that search 4.8 grams of Ecstasy (MDMA) and an amount of cash were located in a hidden container. As a result of this incident, the accused was arrested and cited to appear in court at a later time.

Location: RT7, Red Roof Inn, Rutland Town
Date: 3/28/10

Responding Deputies: Deputy Bennick, Deputy Keynon, Deputy Miller, Sgt. Stephenson

Accused: Juvenile

Information: On 3/28/10 Deputy Bennick located (4) juveniles in a vehicle parked behind the Red Roof Inn in Rutland Town. These individuals had all been consuming alcohol and were subsequently issued tickets for underage drinking. Resulting from that investigation, Deputy Bennick recovered an amount of marijuana from one of the males. That male was arrested and cited for possession of marijuana.

Court action: Yes
Bail: No
