Lt. Bennick began with the RCSD in 2005 as a part-time Deputy. He was hired as a full-time deputy shortly there after and was assigned as the Rutland District Court Officer.

In 2008 Lt. Bennick transferred to the patrol division where he worked a variety of functions.

Lt. Bennick graduated from the 88th Basic Academy for Police Professionals in the fall of 2009 and has worked in the patrol towns of West Rutland, Proctor, Clarendon and Wallingford.

Lt. Bennick has been assigned to the Child First Advocacy Center and Rutland Unit for Special Investigations. Lt. Bennick has also handled investigations of the Rutland County Sheriff's Department.

Lt. Bennick currently is in charge of the hiring process, all training, and backgrounds.
