Charges: Driving Under the Influence 2nd offense (Title 23 VSA 1201)

Description:

On 08/29/13 at approximately 1648 hours the Rutland County Sheriff’s Office, Vermont State Police, members of the Rutland Town Fire Department, and Regional Ambulance Service responded to the area of Interstate 4 near the Rutland Town/West Rutland town line westbound for a report of motor vehicle crash.

Investigation revealed that 25 year old Brittany Lawrence of Rutland, Vermont was driving west on Interstate 4 when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle due to another vehicle cutting her off and went off the roadway into the median.

Lawrence and her infant child were not injured during this incident; however she was found to be impaired. Further investigation by the Rutland County Sheriff's Department found that Lawrence had been consuming alcohol; which rendered her incapable of operating a motor vehicle safely.

Lawrence was processed for DUI and was issued a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court – Criminal Division at a later date and time to answer to the charge of DUI second offense.
