Description:
On April 12, 2015 I was working patrol in the City of Rutland, in uniform, in a fully marked police cruiser. At approximately 0132 hours I was in the parking area of the People’s United Bank at 87 West Street. I was facing east observing the intersection of West Street and Wales Street. I observed a vehicle traveling north on Wales Street. The vehicle slowed at the intersection of West Street but failed to come to a complete stop at the flashing red traffic control signal. This is a violation of Title 23 VSA 1024. I conducted a traffic stop. The operator, Connor McQuade, was Identified by his Vermont Drivers License and subsequently failed Standard Field Sobriety Exercises. At roadside, Mr. McQuade provided a preliminary breath test which yielded a result of 0.142% . The legal limit in the state of Vermont for driving while intoxicated is 0.080%.
Connor McQuade was processed for DUI and was issued a citation to appear in Rutland District Court – Criminal Division on April 20, 2015 at 0830 to answer to the charge of DUI.
