Fingerprint Services

The Rutland County Sheriff's Department serves as the County Fingerprint station for various licensing requirements and documents. We use a State-of-the-Art AFIS fingerprinting computer that provides a quick and efficient result in a few minutes.

Fingerprinting services are done by appointment only by calling 802-775-8002. Our office is located at 88 Grove St, Rutland VT. 

Applicant Information and Instructions

Applicants seeking fingerprints for a background check through Vermont Criminal Information Center (VCIC), MUST have the Fingerprint Authorization (FAC) Certificate, signed by the requesting agency, in hand at the time of the fingerprint appointment.

- Applicants seeking fingerprints for in state or out of state companies that provide their own specific fingerprint cards should NOT fill them out prior to their arrival. Applicants with cards filled out may be will have to reschedule appointments.

-All applicants must have TWO (2) forms of ID. The primary ID must be a valid Photo Driver's License. Secondary ID includes other forms of ID such as, social security card, a signed credit card, a passport, or a birth certificate. 

Disclaimer: A PASSPORT is not considered as a primary photo ID for VCIC required prints.
